Sorry if this is inappropriate for the thread but i've got a Buzz Rickson William Gibson horsehide peacoat in a 38, and i'm curious if anyone has anything in a 36 or 38 they'd be interested in trading? I'm not wearing it too much and would love to try something different!

Now, normally I'm not really a leather or suede person but recently I had a chance to get hold of a bargain-priced mouton jacket with elongated arms from The Viridi-Anne, a Japanese label I really like. I just wanted to get a sense of the fit - hence the robo-pose (worn here with a Coeur linen and wool cap and black textured wool pants also from TVA). It feels like it fits snug but not tight, which is how I have seen it styled, but does it look too tight? The sheepskin is amazing, almost paper-thin in the sleeve area and the jacket is very warm without being at all heavy.

Note: I am in the process of getting back to fitness after a hernia operation and knee problems, and I am a heavier than my normal, so please take that into account here...

The shoulders look about right, and get middle is just a bit too tight, but if you are above normal weight, as you say, that should be fine after a bit, I would think. I like the brand, just prefer my leathers heavier.

What's a good leather jacket for NY winter weather? Something I can go from walking around outside to wearing inside a bar afterwards? Surely a Perfecto or cafe racer wouldn't hold up to the cold, would they?

TVA is a great brand/designer.

I think you look good in the jacket, the zipped up photos make it look a tad tight but I think that will mold to your body as you wear the jacket.

To a speedy recovery!

I've never really been able to wear any leather jackets through much of winter in NYC. They're pretty much a Fall or early Spring item for me. Maybe a Shearling would work, but I end up using down jackets.

Speaking of new jackets, so my Supreme X Schott 2011 collab jacket came in from Japan. In true Understatesman tradition it was too small. Namely, a Medium while I clearly need a Large at this point. Great jacket though, almost unworn. Imma try and find a larger version of the same thing. I really like the leather. While it feels like cowhide, it's like super light as well. Thick, but airy almost. Unlike other Schott DR's I've held it must weigh half their usual weight. Not sure how the leather differs but it's certainly akin to something TOJ used to do with their thicker lambskins. Substantial, but soft and easy to move in.

Anyway, here's me posing with things that turn out to be too small for me in real life. As usual.

Legit playable guitars, same quality as their fullsize counterparts, same pickups, same woods, same electronics. Great for travel or when I don't wanna lug around heavy gear for, say, an open mic jam.

I'll let Mr. Eddie Van Halen take over from here.

And some of mine.
