Nice! Is that the pinpoint from their website? I'm really tempted in getting that shirt.

Update, decided to order one in the New York Classic fit.

Easier to reload the website every few days than stop in at the store ("Any new shirts in?"). That was my experience when I was in NYC.

I find the store's selection vastly exceeds the website. Unless you're shopping for fairly basic shirt/tie colors, I dont think it makes any sense to buy online if you live in NYC.

I wonder if anyone around here has any experience with Stenströms(from Sweden) Shirts, and could compare them to Kamakura? I own a couple of Stenströms and I'm quite satisfied with the quality and fit... I've read up on measurements comparing their slimmest line to Kamakura Tokyo slim fit, and the stenströms are even more slim, which are favourable for me.

Fabric and stitching/overall quality is what I'm looking for, also how do they stand against Borrelli which I love the quality and fabrics of, but their fit are way too short in body and sleeves(especially) for me? would the collar fall in the same beautiful V shape as the Borrelli's if two buttons are unbuttoned?

Thanks!

No experience with Stenströms, so hopefully someone with more knowledge can jump in about your specific question.

My .02, however: doing a quick online look the Stenströms shirts they start at $140usd and most are priced at $160-$180. That's 2x the cost of a Kamakura in NYC. I think you'll find the delta of price to quality is the greatest for Kamakura of almost any other OTR shirt maker. And, at the Stenströms price points, you should consider going completely MTM and get exactly the fit, fabrics and collar you want.

Tonight's kops

Update: I probably missed this discussion upthread, but did anyone hear they were putting a box pleat on the TSF and removing darts? I checked the site, and sure enough the description for the TSF shirts say "this shirt has a box pleat instead of darts" but it's weird that the salespeople in store explicitly told me the shirts still have darts. Oh well.

got myself two TSFs. One is blue thin strip, the other is regular blue shirt, both are cutaway collars without pocket.

These shirts feel really good and gotta say I really like Kamakura shirts, unfortunately they are one size too small at 39-83. Going to put them on the Market soon for $100 shipped CONUS. If anything is interested PM me.

I hope you have better luck with their socks then I did. Bought two pair and they lost all shape after a few wearings and droop and bag horribly at the ankles.

Yea i have to say the socks are disappointing. I was pulling them up all day. someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the socks are made by kamakura... I suspect they're just there to add color to the shop.

To my knowledge, all accessories, save for some ties, are outsourced.
