So after I selected the shirts I wanted (btw the sales person there was very helpful). She had me try on a demo shirt to make sure i was getting the right neck size (15), and she said she was going to take 4 inches (2 on each side) off the shirt to make it a slim fit. Only draw back is , is that I have to wait a week to get them now.

how was the quality/ feel of the fabric? similar to paul smith? etro? canali? z zegna? hugo boss? zara?? lol

We only use pearlized buttons on our shirts.
At what time we live? Use of "pearlized" (whatever this means) buttons as not a dirty fact to hid, but an advantage to advertise?

Same goes for use of machines to attach buttons.

Update:

There is only 1 retail location which is on Leslie Street in Toronto. The trunk sale they are having is because not many people from downtown want to go to their retail location to purcahse shirts so they come every so often to downtown and get a suite at the hotel.

Here are the specials.

- Handmade silk ties from italy $49 (i believe their regular price is 60 something)
- Business casual shirts $49 (s,m,l,xl type sizing).
- At their retail location they only have shirts at pricepoint $95+, which has the promotion if you buy 3 or more you get $20 off each shirt. At the trunk sale it is on all the types of shirts even those that are at the $80. or $85 price point.
- cufflinks are on sale as well ($49 i believe)
- What they are really pushing is their custom made shirts. It's $135 per custom made shirt, but they have a sale where you buy 3 you get 1 free. So it's about $100 CDN for a custom made shirt if you buy 3.

They will also do your measurements so you can place your order online whenever you want, and they will deliver the shirts to your home/office.

Overall there's nothing thats spectacular or worth a long drive. BUT if you're downtown and want to check it out, it's worth the time.

Note: I might just go there today to buy a business casual shirt, and get my measurements done (atleast I'll have my measurements on paper)

I haven't gotten my shirts yet, they are coming next week Monday. From the feel of the *****, they are definitely of higher quality and they do have a guarantee that if you find a shirt of the same level of quality/construction etc, they will give you a free shirt (take that for what it's worth though).

There label does not say 'justwhiteshirt' it's a different label. If/when I go back to get measured I will post the name of the actual label.

What would you compare them to? "Better than my XX shirt, but not as good as my YY shirt" ... that sort of thing ...

Thanks!

I don't really have any 'high-end' shirts. Especially on this forum!! But will let you know as soon as I get them. The feel is good, but I have to see the details of the construction, buttons and tailoring. At most I may only be able to compare them to shirts available at Harry Rosen, or Hugo Boss etc.

Signed up just to follow this thread -- I'm poised to take my first shaky steps from $20 white work shirts to higher-end (but not too high-end!!!) apparel, and there aren't any good men's clothiers that close to me other than chain stores. This would be a good solution for mail-order shirts if they pan out as decent, but if the quality is shoddy then obviously it's a no-go.

I'm also curious about fit, Chigu -- I've heard that Brooks Brothers and other mid-range N.A. clothiers make shirts that are kind of "fat businessman" squareish, and while I'm not exactly sleek, I prefer shirts that hug a bit to shirts that blouse over my pant-tops.

They are run of the mill Chinese-made shirts. Really nothing to get excited about. I'd rather buy shirts at Winners or Banana Republic at 30% off than these. The rest of their stuff like ties and cufflinks are garbage.

Good to know, EL72. Thanks for the heads-up. I was kind of hoping that this was a "pass the savings on to you" Web op, but if it's just bog-standard stuff I'll hang on for a sale at Simons or something.

I'll let you all know after Monday, when I pick up the shirts. The shirts can be made slim fit. In my case they are taking 2 inches off either side (4 inches in total). So I shouldn't get the ballooning effect you are describing. These are not custom made shirts, they are OTR shirts which they are making into 'slim fits' for me.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
