Just started a new job, just got a call from a job I want more. Help!

Interview for that other job. If you get a firm offer, I suspect the decision will be fairly easy for you to make. Until you get that offer, I wouldn't overthink it too much - and I would certainly not quit your current position now.Originally Posted by gdl203

Additionally, if there is a place where they are used to a high turnover rate, it's the sales org. Interview for the other job, get a firm offer, and then explain your situation to your current employer. Done.

I would just add a note here...many have mentioned not leaving your current job until you have an offer. Many times an offer may be conditional e.g. pre-employment background check, drug test, etc. Do not leave your current position until you are sure that any conditions of employment are met and you have a contract in place.

Also, of course, they claim they are excited about you on the commission job. I'm totally sure they say that to everyone they hire as they don't know whether or not you will be successful and they are really not investing much in you if they don't give you a salary. If you work out and earn money, great (especially for them) and if not, oh well, they did not invest much anyway.
People who compensate like that expect turnover and have no right to be upset by it.
Do what is right for yourself, but make sure you have the next offer in hand. Also, I would not tell your current employer you are interviewing; if you don't get the steadier job, you still have the ability to try to earn money from the commissions and try to find a different steady job.
