My fellow Lobb enthusiasts! I'm trying to research these lovely boots that I acquired on the bay a few years ago. (I'm "considering" moving them?) I'm am striking out on the Sheringham model and the 9501 last. Has any one run across these?

I've never heard of them or seen that model. Google turned up nothing also.

Dark brown Cityii

Amazing. I sometime feel like John Lobb got robbed with so many other brands using the same mottled leather JL started first. (To my knowledge)

Now even a Meermin can deceive on a first sight with their styles. Almost same as with Range Rover and those Chinese copy cat cars ..

Any chance that link could go up on the US site?
Edit: nvm, realized the button I thought was only for price changed storefront.
So, new question: what is Kendal calf, and how does it differ from calf or oxford calf? Google is not being helpful.

I'm not sure about Kendal, I mean what the technical difference is compared to the other stuff, and I've not been able to get hold of someone at JL that can tell me yet.

I remember reading somewhere that it is relatively weather resistant and doesn't crease as much as other types of calf.

Are you sure it's not Aqua Calf you are referring to? This is more or less water resistant (well, before starting to put stitches in them at least).

I'm not really any sort of authority at all, but I found this on the LeatherFoot site. Maybe there are other properties which distinguish it from Aqua Calf.

"John Lobb's Romsey II in moss green Kendal calf is a winter boot designed to transition well into lighter weather. It's soft supple leather not only resists the elements but does not crease and comes crafted atop a full heavy duty rubber sole that adds traction needed during wet and stormy weather. Available in 7.5, 9.5, and 10.5."

The classic Lopez is on the 4395 last. I have no experience with wearing this last other than to try it on. It feels nice and roomy in the toe box but the heel seems a bit loose/wide, but I'm wondering if after it breaks in will there be less slippage? (I can't size down.)

Anyone have a pair? Was the heel a bit roomy/loose at first?

Caviar museum is the pin grain museum right? I have only seen it in pictures but it looks intriguing. I'd definitely like to do a run of this sometime. I'm not sure it's new but I read about their Lord Calf, it's some kind of baby calf. Anyone has experience witht this? @MoosicPa?

So much goodies...

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
