Correct, this is a completely new color, it reads as a raw tonal charcoal (dark grey) denim. Both pairs have 2% stretch and are 3 X 1, similar in composition to all of our current MIJ denim.

so to be clear, these are essentially the new obsidians but with a different wash? that would be the easiest way to think about it (creased crotch area and creased back leg)

will JE ever release a "pure" raw denim, without any creases - ie a true MIJ raw denim?

How do you like them?

Sahara? Not bad - knee **** a little low, but whatever.

Will be curious to see what the charcoal looks like in non-filter light.

I don't think there's a wash to these.
Looks to be just raw warp and weft threads with no distressing or treatment. The only thing added is the baked in creases. About as raw as you're gonna get from JE unless you hunt down some Obsidians, Mica's, or graphite's from a few years ago.

do you need to size down for CP chelseas or go TTS? I keep reading mixed reviews online
I sized down on both mine to a 42 and regret it big time, I wear 43 in Achilles. They’re narrow up front. IMO go TTS (same as Achilles)
