Does anyone have any recent experience with re-crafting a pair of 180 loafers with the Weston factory? How did it work out and what is the cost?

I've really put in my 10,000 hours with Weston at this point. After putting in time with a size of 180s I determined with wear to be too constrictive, I had decided that my appropriate size must be a half size larger, and bought two additional pairs of 180s with that belief. Now a year and a half later I'm finding these pairs to be more constrictive than I would prefer and have an inquiry out to Weston to order another pair yet another half-size up.

In all, I've purchased and put aside three pairs of 180s (and a used pair of Golfs) in my sizing quest. My Demi-Chasse is the only pair I purchased in what is the correct size, although even they are more constrictive than I'd like.

Truly a past-time for the unwell.

The fight is real. I've found that 1.5 sizes down from US size generally works (inn case of 180). So being a US 8D, I'm a JM 6.5D, and three loafers later, still going strong. Chelsea boots are a whole 'nother ballgame, but yeah, the 180 -1.5 is "generally" a good rule of thumb.

I am considering returning them to JM Weston for vouchers toward a future purchase (as part of their vintage programme)

I’m thinking of returning two pairs of 180s that are too small. I will receive 200 euros each, 400 total, vouchers from JM Weston that I can use toward a purchase in the correct size.

I wasn't aware of this program, so thank you. I sent in two now-too-small pairs today.

JMW really needs to ditch places like 24s and return to NYC. They can’t be that bad off now.
Now that I know my size, 24S has worked well. They had a great sale back in September and I bought two pairs (the replacements) for less than $650 each. I’d say that’s a bargain for 180s in the classic colors that never ordinarily go on sale at the JM Weston boutiques.

This is similar to what I've found. I have 3 pairs of 180s...The first pair I bought was a 9.5E, I wear a 11eee, and a 10.5 UK G fitting...the 9.5 E was too tight. I sent them back brand new, and exchanged for a 10 F (their widest shoe)...they are perfect, so I'm one size down from US sizing...I didn't realize you could send shoes back for a voucher, looks like it's just 150 euros, or $158...I might do this with one pair. I have two pairs of suede (black and dark brown), and blue calf...the blue calf has creased quite a bit with just a few outings...the 180 in suede is one of my favorite shoes, the vamp does not crease...the brown suede is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have a program called Weston vintage, receiving still manageable shoes to revamp them for the
next customer, in return they issue you a coupon to fall into a deeper trap.😆😆

For those considering doing the vintage trade-in and wanting the VAT discount Galleries Lafayette provides (thank, @Louis_HK for the head's up), I confirmed with Weston that GL does not accept vintage vouchers.

I'm getting 200 euros each for two pairs of very good and very good + shoes. The cap is 400 euro, but based on this you'd have to be trading in a brand new pair to qualify for that.
