If you have a gut, alterations can only take you so far.

Having a gut has nothing to do with it. You would imagine that TF assigns one of its best tailors to fit Hanks, and the tailor should have been able to build in the requisite taper without having the button pull like that.

All of Craig's suits have that same issue, and he doesn't have a gut.

I love how all these internet legends on here are critiquing (sp?) Daniel Craig's fit/suits/look. Hilarious!

That guy turns down more high class 'tang than any of you have ever sniffed. He looks great and so do his suits, and you guys are ******* pathetic.

Goddamned knitting circle here, this site. What a bunch of ******* women.

Done with this nonsense.
thanks for your input, kindly gtfo.

Moore was the quintessential Bond, IMO.
Craig is just too crude and I don't think befits the image at all!
There's no finesse, humor or tact..just a cold lifeless slab!

Was all suit by Brioni in Casino Royale :S?

Yes, Casino Royale was Brioni, I believe because of contract reasons. TF started in QoS.

Incidentally, the suits in Casino Royale look pretty good for the most part, but what was with all the awful self-stripe shirts in that movie? Sheesh.

I can't tell from the photo you posted as it is to dark.

If Hanks had the suit done for him a year prior and he put a couple inches on his waist, there would certainly be pulling.

As you said, perhaps the issue is the tailoring, or lack there of....

Who said Craig is not getting more ass than a toilet seat? Normal folks don't care about a button pulling. The guy is a stud no doubt.

We are talking about 5k suits created for Craig by one of the greatest designers of all time, fitted by top level master tailors. All things being considered, the new suits do not look "great". Pulling all over the place, to tight, etc. The point? One would think that Craig's suits would look flawless considering the resources put behind their design and execution.

No one gives a **** if you are done with this site. Run along son, the grown ups are talking.

Saw the movie a few days ago,

The bad (IMO):

Three button cuffs, with the final, larger (TF style) buttonhole unbuttoned for full sprez.

Everything center-vented, including the dinner jacket.

Suit pants too slim, don't drape probably, looks more like skinny jeans (see photo with overcoat above).

Lapels too narrow for DC's build.

Tab collar shirts.

The narrow pin stripe of the London suit.

Light blue, solid PS w/ light blue shirt.

Didn't care for the leather detailing under the collar of the Billy Reid peacoat.

Slim'ish ties, some w/ unpleasing colours/patterns.

The good (IMO):

Colour of the light grey Turkey suit.

Midnight blue dinner jacket w/ cummerbund and white suspenders.

The overcoat + charcoal scarf.

The Barbour x To Ki To Scotland jacket.

I would actually say the pants are little short one this one.. but that overcoat is awesome on him.

a) not relevant. People are critiquing his tailor, not Craig
b) I don't think anybody here thinks that he doesn't look great in that picture; just surprised that it isn't perfect given the high profile of the movie
c) it's a forum on clothing; if you want to pick your style icons by the amount of women they've slept with, might I recommend the following:

I'm extremely bias when it comes to my love of all things Bond. But even I will differ in the consensus that some shots show jackets with too much pulling I will try to enjoy the movie anyhow :)
