What I’ve heard is that 00=fake.

I wouldn’t buy a pair without a “normal” number, box, certificate and the whole thing, there’s just too many (pretty decent) fakes out there.

Yeah I’m sure there’s some guy out there with a legit pair that threw the box away because he was none the wiser, but there’s 100 fakes for each one of those so too risky IMO.

I bought a fake pair for about $50 from a Chinese website as an exercise in curiosity and to check size (and quality). They are Ascari in whatever name they had for very dark navy blue. They were numbered 00/100.

The frames just don’t suit me but the quality is very decent. Hard to tell the difference from the originals which of course makes us wonder why the originals cost so much! Came with a black pleather envelope style case but no box and papers so buyer beware if you’re looking for a bargain that doesn’t have the box and papers. Having number 00/XXX should be a dead giveaway along with the infamous ‘Mandcrafted’😀

Was thinking the Daidos would be a buy for me, but I'm just not digging the ultra high polish gold tone they've done recently. Reminds me of those costume anodized Elvis glasses, which on paper could be fun but these are a miss for me.

Yep heard that, and I guess that’s why counterfeiters do it, but chances that a 00 pair with no box or anything else is real vs fake are reaaaallly low IMO.
