Took this mirror selfie a couple of weeks ago of my LF Rawlins. Just rediscovered it in my photo stash so posting up as a data point.

LF Rawlins were optical only IIRC. I got Marco to put some blue lenses in which looked very cool but weren’t dark enough and had me squinting in the sun. Took them to Fuse for a dark blue flash and I’m wearing them all the time now! At that price they bloody well will get worn!!

They look like the Fellini, which I clearly prefer. As already said, not a fan of the Last Frontier line, with its showy embellishments. By the way, the silver looks somehow tarnished, even though it could be wanted and part of the look.

Anyone know if there is a difference between nickel titanium and regular titanium? Browsing some Linda Farrow stuff and notice they have some sung listed as nickel but in the details it just says titanium.

All I can tell you is that nickel titanium is what we use in ortho (braces) so if it can survive in the mouth a teen who keeps drinking soda and acidic drinks against doc orders then it’s a hell of an alloy haha

Yeah similar inverted trapezoid shape to Fellini … and my Herbies too. When I get a minute I may do a side by side photo comparison.

One thing I love about this thread is that we all have varying tastes so it’s not just a complete circle jerk of lockstep like-mindedness. Some frames I really dislike, others I can appreciate aren't my style but still look good on other peoples’ heads!

IMO when JMM get it nailed right is when they get a perfect combination of chunky frames with a bit of a classic twist but far enough away from Wayfarers etc that a casual observer could tell the difference. It’s not all about flexing for me but in the case of those LF Rawlings I don’t want lash out the neck end of $1800 for people to say “the guy in the wayfarers”!! Exposed and engraved wiring and in the case of LFs the arrow temples and turquoise thunderbirds hit the sweet spot in setting them apart from cheaper frames without going full on jewelled ‘Double C Chanel’.

Somehow I got on the mailing list for ‘Blazer’ a style e-newsletter and todays had Joe Pesci in Pasolinis and some other fella in JMMs too so the word is getting out.

PS forgot to mention. About the tarnished arrows on the LFs …

If they’re made with real silver as advertised, or at least a high silver content alloy then it’s likely they will tarnish so you may be right. At this point I’m not that bothered as the patina looks cool and subdues the look slightly but at some time I may get at them with a buffing cloth and see if that brightens them up. The nice thing about that silver tarnish is that if you like it you can be sure it will return!

I think the tarnishing potential is probably why all the emblems are removable with the included driver. Stick em in the ultrasonic.
