I appreciate this picture. There’s not many real world photos of the Sandro. Currently deciding between Sandro in Hickory or Walker in Argyle.
Don’t thinking ever shared this but here is a custom Sandro the manager at Blink was given a couple years ago.

That’s really helpful to see it from all angles! Thank you! I guess that’s the trouble with JMM - it’s niche to the point where it’s tough to a) find and try all the frames on in person and b) find pictures of them in the wild and not on models.

Hi everyone, a bit tworn between the Molino, Enzo, Jax and the Kaine, would love to get advice on which fits my face best - I'm thinking Kaine or Molino might work best for my face shape?

FWIW, I think the size of the frames often looks best when it's coordinated with the outfit. So, for example, in the photos you posted, you're wearing an oversized denim jacket with the Enzo and Kaines. I think the big frames look good in that outfit. By comparison, the Jax almost looks dwarfed by your big coat. But if you were wearing a slimmer jacket in that Jax photo, I think they could work.

Same with the Mollino. I think they look good in your photo because the proportion of the frames fits the outfit. As you move towards bigger fits, I think big frames help balance things out.

When choosing frames, I would think about what kind of outfits you plan to wear with them. Slimmer, more "classic" outfits look great with Mollinos. Enzo and Kaines either require big factual features (e.g. big beard) or a big outfit.

Of the four, the Kaine is the best fit.

In these photos, are you arching or raising your eyebrows or is that your natural brow line? Your eyebrows sit above or too high relative to the each of the frames, resulting in a poor visual (bit of a Groucho Marx eyebrows effect)

The Kaine comes the closest to forming a contour with your eyebrows. But again, I don’t know if your facial expression is natural or you are arching your eyebrows.

You are right! I may have been arching my eyebrows, not sure why I tend to do that for selfies.. but my eyebrows do sit high above almost all frames I try, any suggestions there on what to do about that?

Any frames you all suggest for me to try on outside of the Dealans? As mentioned before, the black ones work great with pretty much everything I wear, particularly well with tailoring, big coats, trad fits, etc.

I find the Ascari in Vintage Tort to look stunning, but unfortunately they're sold out, and I'm not sure they'd even work with my overall wardrobe (big overcoats, workwear, tailoring, rugged ivy).

Also, have any dudes tried out the extreme cat-eye frames? I'm curious to see how they'd look.

There is nothing you can do with respect to JMM acetate frames since they do not have adjustable nose pads.

JMM titanium frames, on the other hand, have adjustable nose pads (for the most part at least), which an optician can adjust to allow the frames to sit higher on your face.

If you were to relax your forehead, the top part of the Kaine would likely contour to your brow line and more so than the others frames you posted. That is one reason that I like the Kaine the best on you.

If you go back to the optician, I would also ask to see frames that might sit higher on your face so that your brow line harmonizes with the frames. These can be from JMM or another brand. You may also benefit from frames with adjustable nose pads, but I am sure you can find something among JMM acetates besides the Kaine to achieve this.

On another note, I believe the bridge of the Kaine fits you the best of the four. Bridge fit is important since again there are no adjustable nose pads.

Having said all of this, I do like the Kaine on you and think it would be a good choice.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
