Anybody know if their sales are standardized yearly? I'm looking to purchase a suit, but I'd prefer to wait for a 20-25% off sale first. Maybe towards the end of fall perhaps?

They have a site-wide 30% off sale every so often. At a guess, maybe 4 times per year.

The J.Crew website states the following under shipping to Canada: "We ship via UPS Standard service directly to your door. You will receive your order in four to seven business days from the date your order was placed. Taxes will be included in your order total. No additional duties will be applied at checkout or upon delivery."
Namely that there won't be any additional duties...but the first quote scares me. Anyone have experience ordering from Canada. I know UPS is usually avoided at all costs.

I've ordered several times from J.Crew and have never been hit with any extra charges. Actually I have found shipping from the US through UPS to be very safe. It's Fedex who slams me every time with 30% fees :censored:

Canadian website prices are higher than the US website to cover taxes/duty = no "extra" charges

@wj4 are the 484s vanity sized in the waist (like the urban slim fits)?

Dropped by the Liquor Store to pick up the Nike Air Epics.

Damn, they had a lot of SWEET **** that I hadn't seen in any other NYC store, nevermind the web.

They had the choc suede Indys with red sole, a mid brown pebble grain cap toe Alden with commando sole, lots of great W&B fall items, and lots of nice denim.

Tons of collaboration stuff as well. So happy summer is winding down....the fall line is looking pretty interesting.

Would highly recommend a trip over if you're in Gotham.

I never tried the urban slim fit, but they are true to size. I range from 30-32 depending on the brands. Mostly I'm a 31. I ordered a size 30, 31, and 32. I kept the 31 and returned the other two. It's pretty slim, though...seriously. The leg openings are a bit bigger than 7". Most of my other slim trousers have 7.5" leg openings.

I bought the Chipps they had in their Fall/Winter 2011 rollout. I would wear them with a decently tight pair of joes jeans and a tucked in gingham, got a ton of compliments and a ton of metro lumberjack stingers.

Did you get the lighter or darker ones?

I'm curious about the "goaky" chippewa boots, and whether the color can be darkened a bit if the leather is oiled. I like them a lot, but they're a bit too light for me, and the other pair is... well, too dark.

If the dark pair you are referring to is the Plain Toe Boots, unless they changed them, mine are lighter than they look in the picture. They are a darker brown color but certainly not almost black. They come pretty heavily oiled and break in nicely and lighten up a little bit.
