So I picked up a cheap $10 knit tie today to try out for the summer, but I'm having difficulty making the knot look decent. Is there a trick to getting a good knot on one? Or is there a certain knot I should be using over others?

It's not particularly skinny, and is only about 2 inches in width. I've tried a few different types of knots so far, but they always end up rather large and unbalanced. I'll try playing with it some more this evening.

Bah, no tie should be this difficult. I think I'm just going to return it and try one from another maker. It's from J.Crew and I've had problems getting decent knots out of their other ties before, but I was hoping this one would be different.
