Is my Sportcoats too long?

I know the rule of thumb for suit jacket length is to cover my butt. Please critique the length of this classic sportcoats. It seems to fulfill the “cover your ass” criteria but goes pass my thumb.
If its too long, should it be shorten?

It’s perhaps an inch longer than ideal but I would not suggest shortening it as you would lose more in balance than you gain in better length

Classically it’s the correct length. The modern trend is shorter, but yours isn’t too long. You could shorten it one inch if you really want to, but no more than that or it will throw off the proportions as Andy mentioned.
