Thanks L. We're told the best schoool is in Short Hills/Millburn, which is just past Maplewood.

9th and Irving area. The kind of house and neighborhood we could see ourselves living in for 20+ yrs. A few blocks from good schools, 1/2 block from Muni, >2 mile bike commute for me through the park. Good sized home w/ room to grow

I have a friend who lives in that area. If you don't have to commute out of the city, it's a great location. Proximity to the park, the ocean are enviable.

You're right about getting out of the city. Fortunately, we wouldn't be going out often. We'll miss easy access to the airport and Costco, but those are once a month trips. Making up for the difficulty is the relative beauty of O'Shaughnessy, probably the best route south or east. I hate 19th ave south of the park, but as it turns into PP heading to the GG bridge it's pretty nice.

Re: airport access - are you talking about NJ/SO? Newark airport is very convenient to any of those towns on the Morris/Essex line (Morristown thru Newark). I grew up nearby and have very fond memories of SO. My buddy's dad taught @ Seton Hall and all 7 kids went there - saw some great, very intense Big East b-ball games. Orange Lawn & Tennis used to have a U.S. Open warmup tournament (when Open was on grass @ Forest Hills) that we would sneak into. Ilie Nastase kissed my sister & gave me his wristbands :wow: Columbia is a very good HS - ultimate frisbee was supposedly invented there :nodding:

'Nastase kissed my sister' would make for a good t-shirt

We once went went to South Mountain Arena to watch a hockey clinic being conducted by Rod Gilbert - he kissed her too! :butbut:

And to go full circle w/ a t-shirt story - fast forward 25 years: my bother made up these Grateful Rangers / Steal Your Faceoff shirts that he was selling at Dead shows at the Garden - Rod Gilbert (the Bill Walton of hockey) was one of his last sales before the cops got them! :bigstar:

Hey RF, I was talking about the house we recently bought in SF. Thanks for the info about SO. Love ultimate. Or I did. Played it once a week or so in grad school.

I was mostly a Georgetown fan, but rooted for SH against Duke. Watched the Bobby Hurley story recently on a flight. Too bad he didn't go to SH.

I'll definitely hit you up for advice if we go. Looks like it'll be next summer.

Fog has been terrible lately. It's like I'm in that sh*tty Mist movie

Not staying a single weekend in August

I was in Willows this weekend in 100+ temps. ****. That. So happy to be back in SF.
