I ended up buying the tan cotton suit separates from Matches Fashion; I have been on the lookout for such a suit for some time. Thanks @merkwurdigliebe for your input.

My conclusions:
1. the jackets from Matches fit like the jackets from Husbands
2. the Matches size measurements are more accurate than the Husbands measurements. The jackets are even slimmer (by measurements) than the Husbands measurements would indicate. Sizing up by one size works for me.
3. the trousers from Matches are smaller than the trousers from Husbands (but the Matches measurements are correct). So the Matches 38 Fr trousers = Husbands 46 EU trousers.

Mine is essentially this coat in a different fabric. I also think they have a similar RTW version coming soon by the way.

Your coat looks great. How does your fabric compare, colour wise, to the Husbands ready to wear option? Hard to tell from photos, but your fabric looks more oatmeal and salt and pepper to me, relative to the more stark black and white of the Husbands version.

Thought exactly the same at first. Felt @garigo was more a cream/black herringbone.
But taking a closer look, I think the traditional white on black with a more flashy effect is just toned down buy the donegal speckles.

Let’s see what his response will be.

I would say that's correct, and in addition the scale of the pattern is not as large as in the case of the RTW version.

BST/eBay deal, decide to gamble on the length, jacket is fine, sleeve is still a bit long (I asked the tailor not to do it from shoulder but as much as he can from sleeve, so it’s still about 1/4 to 1/2 inch too long else edge is too close to button and will start look, I’ll live…)

the look is very French (or what I think is French), but somehow it kind reminds me of my old Richard James suit if the lapel were wider

Personally would wish buttoning point is a bit lower but I think my taste has always been lower than everyone (like back in 2009 I wish RLBL Anthony’s button point was a bit lower)

This might be the few suit where it might look better on me unbuttoned (can’t really do that while raising arm to take pictures things would look funky open)

Oh yea it’s nice to not to have stupid slim pants for once… that’s kind the reason I stop buying newer Phineas Cole suit as they went (as far as I’m concerned) yoga pant slim (their old suit trouser on a 30 waist is 8.25 leg opening now even if full let out its just a bit over 7)

That was my listing! Next time message me on here to skip the ebay fees + sales tax. Looks a lot better on you than it did me.

It’s pretty ridiculous. I bought a suit with a 32 waist, and the leg opening is 6.5’. I’m hoping I can let it out by at least an inch.

Last things Phineas cole… I couldn’t widen a inch on mine when full let out, the thing is the jacket’s cut is really nice on Coleman… don’t really want to go MTO with them as once you go outside basic fabric it’s basically 3k to 3.5k…

Really beautiful coat, congratulations! I was wondering if you could share what the pocket lining is made of? Is it standard viscose or is it something like moleskin (for warmth)?

Thank you! It is just standard viscose.
