As others have noted I'm not sure if letting the coat out is a good idea with such delicate fabric. Where did you get the coat from, I've been looking for something similar.

It's Purple Label and I'm assuming it came from the outlet, but I bought it online.

I just tried it on again, and I don't think it's too tight. I think any of the pulling/weird lay is due to the vents being sewn shut. It's giving the bottom area some fullness which isnt there because of ******. In fact, there's actually room at the waist to have it taken in (I believe it would be possible if I wanted), and that its just the vents being closed that make it look like that. I think i'm going to keep it, but I'm going to have the tailor give me his opinion before I remove the tags, bastings, and attach the buttons.

I find the lapel size distractingly big and even for the current trend that body looks really short... I'm not sure this one is a keeper....

PS - is that black?

To me, it looks too short, which would account for the sleeves being way too short. Is it a long, which at 6' 2", is what you need.

It's hard to find a 38L

.

There's some material, can the length of jackets be lengthened? How much does it cost?

I'd say it's at least an inch and a half too short, even for a double breast.

I don't think there's too much waist suppression, it's deceiving because the hip area flares out because the vents are closed. If I do end up keeping it, I'll show pictures after it gets tailored. And I don't think it's an inch and a half too short, maybe 3/4 of an inch.

So two different tailors I called don't really want to lengthen a jacket

. Is it that short? Is it completely undoable?

Well in the pic it looks like it's barely covering half of your ass, so I'd say that it is. I still stand by my 1.5" comment...

I think it might even fall lower when I take out the basting cuz its holding it tight. I don't know what to do! I really want to keep it, but I don't want to make a dumb decision.
