I have been told that one needs 2.25 yards of 60" fabric for a shirt. How much is needed if the width is 45" and 36 inch. Anyone?

How much fabric is required for a shirt

If you are a standard size.
60"--2 yards
45" 2 1/2 yards
36" 3 yards
large plaids, french cuffs, and fly fronts might need a little more.

Let's say I had two separate lengths of the same (solid color) cloth, each 60" by 40" - could a shirt be made from them
