I knew a "clubby" chap who used to pronounce it "Jermine" as in landmine. I never corrected him as he looked like he might have known something I didn't.

It's pronounced 'German', though having learned of its existence on the interwebs I have a habit of reading it as 'germin'.

RP is 'germin', according to my pronunciation dictionary: /ˈdʒɛːmɪn/. (Non-RP: /ˈdʒɛːmɘn/ ('German').
