I have been known as the local gossip in the custom shirt making industy. Primarily because I have also had a fabric business and have sold to almost all of the shirmakers except the Custom shop when Mr. Levitt was there. He would not buy close out goods no matter how low the price. I could buy first quality 100/2 white broadcloth from Polo for $1.00 offer it to the Custom shop at 2.00 when mill price was $2.75 and he would still not buy it.

I would gladly go on about ths topic but a very beautiful woman is coming over to my apartment to share a bottle of wine with me.

Which should I do? Spend the next half hour typing out the history of custom shirtmakers in the USA or make sure my apartment is neat and the wine glasses are clean?

Maybe I will come up for air sometime tomorrow and sit at the computer.

Hell, no. Don't come up for air - at least until Monday or Tuesday. Banks is young enough to wait for his history lesson. You're old enough that if you have the opportunity ... 'nuf said.

Here, Banks. Work on this one for a while. The best (dead) U.S. shirtmaker ever was Jules Holden.

My father had many shirts made by Jules Holden. The fabric and workmanship was great. Each one nicer then the next. Voiles from France that were just incredible.

He even made my Bar Mitzvah shirts. One is sitting in a armoir in my office.

Enough air. I am going back in.
