@Alan Bee what color is that basket weave cloth? It looks purple-ish on my monitor! Very nice!

BTW, what is your choice of watch(es) on a daily basis? I must assume that your watch collection matches your bespoke clothing collection, no?

Hi @ShawnBC

The jacket is a deep chocolate brown with black and white weaves woven into it. Very rich and deep brown.

I won’t go so far to call myself a collector. I basically threw out my entire RTW wardrobe after putting on some muscle mass and drew up a wardrobe plan on a spreadsheet to be executed in 3 phases. I just completed phase 2.

Phase 1 and 2 were mostly solids (both suits and jackets) and solids with texture, evening wear (tux, dinner jackets), shirts, odd trousers (all accounting for both seasons) and the novelty of a morning dress (coat, vest, trousers). Phase 3 will focus on (subtly) patterned suits and jackets which I’m still learning more about before I embark.

BTW, nothing off the rack works for me so Bespoke is not so much a luxury as it is a necessity.

I’m a big evangelist for this approach because every item in your wardrobe is intentional and sufficiently used. It leaves No room for the odd impulse purchase.

I’m not a watch collector either. I have only two watches. A sport watch (Jaeger Le Coultre Master Geographic) and a dress watch (Girard Perregoux flat rose gold watch). I’ve had both over 10 years and intend to pass them on to my only children, my two sons.

@Alan Bee out of curiosity, how wide do you normally take your Cappelli ties?

Hi @ericgereghty

My first set of bespoke ties were 10cm at the tip. On Patrizio’s (Cappelli) recommendation, the second set I recently made as part of phase 2 of my wardrobe buildout are a more modest 9.5cm.

I prefer the bigger 10cm ties for sportswear and the 9.5cm for suiting.

Nice choice of watches. Especially love the JLC Master Geo myself. Looks like you have a pretty analytical mind and a plan laid out!

This begs for black whole cuts and a black grenadine tie!

Out on a cold (for here), damp, and grey day in Los Angeles.

Brooks Brothers herringbone tweed jacket, graph check PPBD shirt, 9/11 Memorial tie, and Irish Linen pocket square, Lyle & Scott cashmere cardigan, L L Bean cords, socks from Marshall's, and Brooks Brother for Allen-Edmonds shoes.

A "Piece-Of-Person" picture, a person trying to figure out how to eat a barbecue chicken sandwich without making a mess and also trying to figure out why some people leave their button down collar shirt collar buttons unbuttoned or any of their jacket sleeve buttons unbuttoned, a look I call Spazzatura.

(Somehow managed to eat the sandwich without getting any barbeque sauce on me.)

While that certainly would’ve made for an outstanding ensemble, I think the choice for brown was an interesting alternative take, and one that I quite enjoyed.
