Here's an interesting theory about socks.....

For those who might ask about the details, Brooks Brothers corduroy jacket (that I got in the seventies), blue OCBD shirt, tie, and BB#1 stripe socks, Ralph Lauren Rugby pocket square, Ralph Lauren Polo Golf Fair Isle sweater vest, Orvis trousers, and Florsheim shoes.

@Roycru , I picked up a Brooks Bros corduroy jacket just the other day on sale at their Sydney flagship store. Mine is olive green.

Will see if I can work it into a fit soon. (Weather needs to cool down first.)

Corduroy + Wool Sweater + 90F = Masochism in my mind. Looks great though.

Not much cooler here in San Diego (low 80's).

What I wore this evening (disclaimer: terrible halogen lighting and camera flash made for not so great pictures):

Adventurous for me. Navy Worsted Suit, Red/White Stripe Shirt, Brown Gren Tie, Brown Belt and Shoes

Since I've got a moment or three... That needs a solid colored shirt, or at least something with a pattern that doesn't so closely match the suit. There is a principle of pattern matching that I adhere to which says scale and density should contrast. Both the scale, and density, of the shirt and suit patterns are nearly the same. A bengal stripe might have gone well here, but a solid would have been ideal. I really like everything else. Including the PS.

This, but also, the shirt looks to be in a very country tattersall (at least that's what it looks like on my iPhone screen). The suit is a clear "city" suit. I do t normally care as much about these things as other people here do, but those items are so clearly polar opposites.

@ComfortablyDumb , this is friggin´ awesome. The knit tie, the killer SC, the pants...not one thing i don´t like in this fit.

Maiden voyage for a new sc. I don't like logos at all but I have maintained the same tradition every time I have bought Isaia: the lapel pin stays on the first time I wear it, then never again.

SC & Shirt: Isaia
Tie: Vanda (rust), Isaia (beige)
PS: Kimber (pastels), Cucinelli (red squares)
Pants: Berg & Berg

@DiplomaticTies , I think the top look with the brown plaid tie works better than the second one - might have have to do with the higher contrast between shirt / tie. The SC is killer, seems to be a wool-silk-linen blend of sorts?

Thanks.

Here's today. If I could take an inch of spread out and mail it to @blekit I probably would.

I think I'm going to have these pants tapered slightly from the knee down.

Brooksgate suit/Hawes & Curtis tie/Sante De Chio shirt (thanks @nerdykarim )/no-name pocket square (thanks @drlivingston )/AE Park Aves (thanks AAAC poster Dmontez).

The shirt says "country", while the suit says "city" - hence, it´s incongruent. Would have gone (as @Caustic Man has already suggested) with a plain white / or light blue shirt, a bengal would have worked to, given it had broader stripes. Rest is nice, though.

@Roycru , you win. I wonder why Ralph never asked you to star in one of his adverts...

Today: mixing greys, browns and patterns of different size and origin.

Nice and simple. Suit cut works well for you.
#39.

Really nice, just not a fan of the white stitching on the shoes.

Shirt and tie are both very warm in color and clash in my eyes. A light blue shirt or a colder brown tie would be much better, I think.

Digging the fit, @Coxsackie - however i would have gone for a different shoe modell. Just not liking the shape here...maybe a more classical tassel... @Roycru , you win. Really nice, one of my favorites of you so far.

Yes, shirt is much better! I know it's seen as a standard combination, but I'm not a fan of the "navy tie and navy suit" combo. The same tie in brown, burgundy, green would have been nice.

Hmmm....your TASSEKS are nicer than my TASSEKS.

I might have to consider a TASSEKs upgrade.

Great picture and story. I would add that those same people often extend their bizarre comments to cover other aspects of an outfit...

So, what socks do you wear, if any when it is 90F?
