^ I like this, but think there is too much contrast with the pants. I like high rise pants, but not how long the tie is.

Agreed, the top block is too many dark tones, it creates cognitive dissonance with the bottom half and spoils what would otherwise be a nice high waisted pant, calling undue attention to it and making it look more geriatric than it is.

we are most probably right and will take that in consideration for next time.
the tie is rtw and there is a couple cm longer than I am normally wear, although the angle of the picture in also not helping in those regards.

I agree, the waist looks a bit too high. And I just can't get behind denim dress shirts, but I really do like the fit for the most part.
