A shameless indulgence: Kiton. Easily the most luxurious shirt in my entire wardrobe.

rock on.

Thats all cool. I was just curious. It looks all good but I personally think 3.5" or plus tie with a fat knot wud have looked even better

do not necessarily agree. the hard on for exact equal tie and lapel width is overplayed here, and its much more an issue when the tie is wider than the lapels, not visa versa. in any case, murls look works well.

I hadn't thought of wearing the jacket with a polo, which shows how versatile it is. You've all convinced me, so I just closed my SF and ebay listings.

Dang, I would have bought that from you in a heartbeat. Exactly what I am looking for. Very nice jacket.

Looking good! It's very strange, I have never heard of Flannel Bay until I saw your post this morning. I went to some stores on my lunch break today, and picked up a Flannel Bay sportscoat from a local boutique, reduced by $1000! (I'm from Australia so the markups on clothing here is fairly large) I go in there a fair bit and never noticed the brand. Serendipitous... Very nice fabric, a loro piana wool/silk/linen.

Awesome! Now let's see pics!

I hadn't heard of them either. But on the second day in Florence we did a bit of browsing in stores and I came across this SC that fit me very good right off the rack, so I went with it. I got it at a very good price as well (ca €300), considering fabric, construction et c.

Dear Murlsquirrel,
Why wide lapels and not complementarily wide tie?

I have 4-5 of these Calbrese ties and they are all 3.3". Even though I prefer 3.5", it doesn't bother me enough to pass them up. So would it look better with a slightly wider tie and bigger knot? Probably....but I still like the look.

Edit: Sorry, missed @in stitches post at the top.

Perhaps a less extreme cutaway collar would also help the tie not look as narrow?

Dear Upper Crust,

Such costumes should guarantee that the wearer gets much respect by other persons whereever he goes, except in train stations, or listening to street musicians, or anywhere pickpockets or worse frequent. Special surprise is the pink shirt, which sporns me to change my order of two cream and one pink to two pink and one cream at a current shirt sale featuring the magic trinity reduced. Your moon and sun trouser suspenders in beautiful colors serve much better thsn any Free Mason Mormon underwear to remind you everything in and around you is destiny in the hands of angels, except your own spiritual activity shaping your future.
