While I'm not a fan of contrast cuffs/collar, I like this look overall.

Thank you. I hear you. This is the first one I own and my partner was VERY skeptical when I showed her the shirt. Frankly, I picked it up cause I was curious if I could make it work in my wardrobe. Time will tell.

A suit is by definition a formal attire, I don't understand the need to casualize it, especially as you have a lot of better alternatives.

I don’t understand your need to respond to every post without posting your own outfits, but I respect it. I want to wear this suit without looking like a Wall Street banker. It’s still formal just not that extreme. I think it can be done and I think the above look works very well. I’ve done the Wall Street look before. Trying something new because I can and want to.

A buddy on Instagram wore a similar outfit which I love. If y’all don’t like his outfit, then just ignore my endeavor. He sees my vision.

I keep trying to wear this suit causally. This time I paired it with a purple cardigan and a paisley bow tie. I went with purple socks and brown suede shoes to lower the formality. How’d I do?

All in all l, I think it gets a thumbs up. I definitely see what you’re trying to do.

I think this might be the time to take advice from Chanel, look at yourself in the mirror and remove one thing. I think the suit is dressed down with the bow tie and OCBD, also with the purple knit. Maybe one or the other. Knit with a sober tie, or bow tie/ocbd without the knit.

Also. Not a huge fan of the super matchy knit and socks. But that’s a minor quibble.

Like I said, like I said, I respect your choice to comment. Do as you like. Just saying, we are all entitled to do things other people don’t understand. I hope that we can all take other people’s desires at face value. If you think it’s impossible to wear this suit casually, I appreciate the feedback. Even if it’s not your favorite, can you imagine a way it could work?

I get we’re on a classical menswear forum so it’s not surprising my request to do something different might be meet with opposition, but one can hope.

That look is so busy, the pinstripe and all the coloured accessories that go along with it is too much. What about elegance, isn't this what we men are trying to do well? What if you and he did the urban sophisticate look and just did a bone or black turtleneck with no accessories. Keeping it really simple and let the pinstripe speak the loudest while having the turtleneck in the background that frames your face. It would break the rules, but the question is, are you that guy who can break the rules and pull it off?? We all like to think we can do it, but it takes a special guy to be able to do it well.

There used to be an African American poster here called Barims. He was a master of style and could mix all the bright colours and complex patterns together with ease. He always looked fantastic. Most of us aren't at that level, those types of style masters are few and far between.

Found a photo of him (third photo down). Look at the ease of which he pulls of a look.

This has me written all over it! Only thing, which of my loud ties do I pick?! Yes, I have the same problem. I have one that is a bit more autumnal than the others, which is more in keeping with the weather here at the moment, so that may have to be the one.
