This.

If times are so tough that buying second hand socks is a necessity then I sympathize. But you have much bigger fish to fry than poasting pictures of your clothing on the internet in that case.
People are misinterpreting his post. He said *ebay*/thrift/consignment - 2 of those could indicate they were never actually used.

I think this is a question that would be well-received in The State of Black Tie. CC: @Andy57
Is it still black tie if there is no tie? I think if you showed up to an event that had specified "black tie" without wearing a tie, then no, you not be properly dressed in black tie. I think if you wore a dinner jacket on any other occasion then it doesn't really matter.

In non-black tie news, I dug this gunclub jacket out of the wardrobe yesterday:

That hat is a beauty. You should post one of those photos, or a head shot showing the hat, in the thread on men's hats. It will be much appreciated there.

Hola! Maiden voyage for this Marol via Albertini shirt.

I love everything, but the vest/cardigan. And I love vest/cardigans! I think the vest is ill-suited because of its texture and color. The texture is too casual for a formal suit and the color is too light and competes with the darker gray suit. At the very least, I think you should do another button to hide the bottom of the tie.

I don't get it.
The pattern is a little loud (or at least louder than what I typically wear) so it looks like the kind of thing a kid's imaginary friend might wear.

Postscript: reading this back to myself, it sounds absolutely ludicrous.
