I note that myself, Bienluienapris, and Coxsackie all donned fedoras today - a trend?

Continuing to maintain a ghostly presence on the board while I'm back trying to sell a few items that don't fit me so well (any 36S/38S, check out my sales thread

). crusty & Coxsackie both sporting tremendous outfits on this page.

Couple of recent outfits, one relaxed, one a bit more sombre:

Really like the combo, Don - but is something odd going on with the lapels? Is that jacket a 3/2 or a 3?

It is though. I'm not going to dig around for examples, but it's common knowledge that a slightly darker or more saturated shirt looks great with let's say a tan or cream suit. Much better than lets say a white or pale blue shirt, especially if you have a lighter complexion, but that doesn't mean it looks bad with a darker complexion. Darker shirts also look best when worn tieless. For example, a navy linen shirt with a casual tan cotton suit can look fantastic.

Anyways, I'm sure we can agree that when your tie, shirt and jacket are all very similar, like in Justin's outfit today, it's not a good a look.

From a couple weeks ago. I don't recall if I ever posted it here. Cream linen-cotton suit, saturated shirt, brown cotton tie.

Not a smashing success (which is probably why I didn't post it), but I think I was going for the look you were advocating.

I'm not sure about the hanky there, but otherwise it's a great look. It's nice to see you in something that's not navy. You should try it more often!

Hey. There are many shades of blue which aren't navy. And I own many of them.

But the last couple of purchases have not been any type of blue (as mentioned in the other thread, Mrs. Claghorn has required me to purchase four jackets/suits that are not blue before I am allowed another blue jacket; this is very reasonable of her. The alternative could have been: stop buying stuff). I got a brown houndstooth suit from Howard Yount and a moss green three season suit from Kent Wang. Two more and then I want a 0520 jacket. I have a jacket in the exact same color (I've compared the two in person) and with a similar texture, but it is a wool-linen mix, not a 3r2 and has three patch pockets. So I'd like a 0520 with just two patch pockets and 3r2. These are crucial differences that absolutely warrant the purchase!

This might be a bit off-topic/out of place, but do any of you guys know if there's a New York tailors thread, a la Hong Kong tailors thread?
