Disagree about the white shirt. If you are going to wear that type of shirt, this is the way to do it. Nice. It seems like you are getting to a point where you are comfortable to introduce an unexpected element in a way that elevates your fit.

Stitchy, I am solidly on record as a detractor of that type of shirt pattern, but I must confess that it works for me here.

why i am so glad to hear that!

what is it about such a stripe that that you must usually detract ?

thanks, man. i would agree that this is the way to wear this shirt, but i just think had i gone white shirt, the whole thing would have been more crisp. then again, white would be the obvious/easy choice, and while sometimes that is the best choice, in a KISS kind of way, i wanted to try something unexpected. i can always do a white shirt another day. : )

Spoilers please.

New PRL tie courtest of @spoopoker / Luxeswap.

Decent tie, and works very well within your preferred style - suited but with some flash - without straying over the edge.

probably should have gone white shirt....

Absolutely not IMO; it would have been far too stark and also too predictable. The grey stripes soften the look just enough.

Partly inspired by recent discussion in a thread about using black knit ties; can't remember which thread tho'. Shirt's a very pale pink, not white; that might not be obvious in the photo. I really like the combination of a casual black tie on a very pale pink background.
