Long, long ago, IBM was notorious for having a strict dress code that required employees wear a grey suit, white shirt, and black shoes.
Today's fit. Suit is an old italian made PRL. Tie is linen by Talbot. Shoes by Magnanni. Shirt is Jeffrey somebody or other from my "Daffy's collection of shirts".
The problem is the illusion that there is clothing or a form of dressing that is "timeless" and "classic"
Great outfit Cousin, but then I think your outfits are always good so maybe I am biased.
If any of us transported back to a previous decade (1900's 20's 30's 40's, etc, whit even as early as the 90's) they would tell us we all look like clownshit so yes I do believe it is an illusion.Timeless would be a stretch, in my opinion. However, considering that what we perceive as Classic Menswear is basically the same for a century (yes, I'm aware of the change in silhouette, but the scheme is basically the same), it's not a stretch to call it classic. As with music, "classic" is just a reference.
The illusion that you're ranting on, by the way I see it, is the biased judgment that some make of the heterodox outfits, such as yours.
I know at least one poster who this does not apply to.
I think there's insufficient tonal range here, E.
Hmmmm.... Point taken.
Thanks
