For a restaurant, try Brasserie Zedel, a huge French brasserie in the basement of what was (or is) the Regent Palace Hotel, just off Piccadilly Circus - 20 Sherwood St. Decent food, but an amazing space.

Thanks for mentioning this Upper. Never heard of it before, but the menu looks great and surprisingly, not outrageously priced. When you say "decent" though, do you mean "not really all that good"?

What is DTO?

For all you noobs, DTO was a member here who copied Phat Guido's style very frequently (albeit, his attempts were a far cry from PG's style, and DTO didn't have his budget). Nevertheless, he managed to piss off Phat Guido, and now when someone shamelessly copies the look of another styfo'er, they "DTO" them. :foo:

I've been there twice in the past year, once upon A-Level Results day and then again on my 18th birthday, the food is fantastic and the service really is top notch. Would really recommend it if you are in London. Also, check out B.Y.O.C. in Covent Garden, (Bring Your Own Cocktail), it costs £20 for entry and you have to book a table, but you bring a bottle of your choice and they mix it into cocktails for you, really cool place to go with friends etc.

Cheers Nick

Some cool stuff in the thread recently. Haven't really had a chance to read/post for a little while; here's a pic from a few days or so ago to make up for it:

The food, while not exemplary, is still very good, though it cannot compete with the interior (at least of the main dining room), which has been gloriously restored to its Edwardian/Art Deco glory. Please understand too that, from the street, the place looks like a small cafe - it is only when one goes downstairs that this enormous elegant brasserie (with adjacent lounge) appears, quite unexpectedly.
