Thanks Lupin!BTW Clouseau, that Perry Harrington is really nice!
Spot on. I had one myself at that exact moment. Very 1979-80 indeed. With the Stewart tartan. Difference here is the quality, back vent, muck thicker material, and no tartan on the lapels for a more subtle and elegant touch. I was referring to the one I had in the time, a few days ago while speaking with @cerneabbas, saying the FP is the luxury and ultimate version. Really had the old one in mind, that’s why I wanted the black one. A throw back in time, but with a contemporary touch, and age appropriate. Here and now.The black Harrington is very 1979 2 Tone Rude Boy.
Everyone around here early/mid teens had one, usually with ironed on red letters on the back saying The Specials or The Selecter.
Had one myself but without the lettering. Light blue Sta-Prest, I thought it was always going to be like this!
How do you wear the new one?Spot on. I had one myself at that exact moment. Very 1979-80 indeed. With the Stewart tartan.
Edit: yes worn there and then with sta prest or jeans, DMs, FP, and sometimes with one of those cheap pork pie hats, remember them?

Do you have the pictures? If you guys remember « The Jim Ferguson Friday challenge », @Mr Knightley and I re-enacted the Harrington drawing, that was quite smart. IIRC it was worn with a FP, sta-prest, and brogues. That’s a classic look.

The Mod to Suedehead & The Look Goes On J.F Challenge
The 'Jim Ferguson's fashion notebook' (1982) drawings, controversial for some exquisite to others (not the point here - it has been discussed at length on the 'Mod to Suedehead' thread), provided a template for the 80s revivalists influenced by the spirit of 1969. The recent 'Official Preppy...www.styleforum.net
