Generic Products

Is it really worth paying 18$ for a few ounces of American Crew whatever? Or like 8$ for Cetaphil when the CVS brand version is like 4$?

I'm pretty sure that most of the generic things are made at the exact same factory as the name brand things, can you guys explain to me what is worth going generic for and what isn't?

not all generics use the same higher quality ingredients in a comparable product priced 2 or 3x the generic. however, some do.
it's all about doing your own research to see which products are worth paying more for.

Generics are right next to the products they are the same as. Some even make it explicitly clear with the "compare to:" label.

You only find generics of drug store brands. You wont find drug store brands of high end stuff. Higher end grooming products usually are better than their drugstore counterparts.

I don't mind generic for OTC meds and stuff where they clearly list the active ingredient and the amount of it, but for other stuff like hair product, toothpaste, moisturizer, etc. I usually go for the brand stuff since I've tried generic items in the past and have always disappointed me (e.g. face wash that dried the crap out of my skin).

I will sometimes buy generic products to replenish my name brand bottles. I do this all the time with Listerine. I have a small Listerine bottle and keep on refilling it with a large generic Listerine bottle I keep below the seek and deep in close to the wall.

One should not leave generic products in plain site, otherwise guests will think you are poor.

The only generics I buy are are medications and hand soap.

I've never found even a decent generic replacement for name brand items like tooth brushes, dental floss, toothpaste, etc.

I find generic stuff cheaps out on stuff like wrappers, and containers. I'm a regular consumer of Advil Cold and Sinus, and while the generics work as well, they are a pain ********** to get out of the packaging.

I don't buy generics. They don't have to be the same as regular drugs in terms of bioavailability, which is a fancy way of saying how the drug is dispersed throughout the body. If you wouldn't buy a generic car or a generic sweat shirt why buy a generic drug that's affecting your body? Heath = wealth my friend.

It depends on the product. In reply to cetaphil - generics are most definitely the way to go with that. It's the same stuff.
