I thought you believed in only wearing one article of clothing.

A woollen jumpsuit? Sure, I’ll take it. The Belgian Olympic ice skater from 1952, Helmut Seibt, rocks it quite nicely.

I encourage those looking for a vintage Burberry's or Aquascutum trenchcoat to send me a PM; I've been collecting stock in anticipation of opening an Etsy store or similar, but I'm happy to sell directly too.

you are absolutely right, but I happen to be very slim. What would you recommend?

I don't really see how that matters. You have a smaller chest size. Get it in that smaller chest size. The rest should take care of itself. Trenchcoats look best when they are a bit fuller IMO.

I like how the belt is hidden under the flaps of the pockets in that model.
Actually I take that back. On the mannequin it seems fine, but when worn the pockets are so bulky that they hide not only most of the belt, but also any cinch effect in the waist (the whole point in using the belt imo), making it look like it falls down on the figure completely straight, which I really dislike.

Or maybe it's because those photos are of the wool version which is much bulkier than the cotton ripstop?

I think that's a bit short for a trench coat, but you can still very clearly see the cinching in the waist.

Look no further than to Seh Kelly.

To resurrect an old thread ...

Turns out I am also in the market for a Trench, full length, and this one seems a bit short at 43" for the 44, that isn't even 110cm.

So 6" shorter than a full length Burberry Kensington, or am I not understanding the measurements.

Broadly speaking, is London the place to shop for Trench coats?

Macintosh:

They seem to only have 2 full length

This one with the odd belt and weird side panel

and this one - which is only single breasted

Well I will be in Tokyo in a few weeks so I guess I should stop off and have a look in store.

All their Macs are 3/4 length as well.

Thanks
Richard

Coherence Al II Trench coat.

I don't think you can buy it in London, but you can order online from several stores. Looks like this:

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
