The reason his outfit is winning is precisely because it is not a joke. He looks really good. The hat would normally be worn with a more casual fit, and wearing it with a sport coat makes the look a bit more Pitti (I.e. able to stand out and attract a photographer's lens in a sea of thousands of fits).

I actually think he's winning because he is wearing very nice things which fit him exceptionally and are in keeping with the theme. I think he'd be on top whether he wore the hat or not.

Me too, but I think the same about a lot of the stuff I see in Pitti photos.

Yes, I think so. Either because one needs to stand out a bit (PR, marketing, publicity), or because it is a place where there's enough experimentation happening that it feels more comfortable to do so.

Yes, it seems so. I'm glad you mentioned that the hat looks a bit out of place, because it does. However, as the other guy mentioned, I doubt anyone would feel self conscious about wearing it at Pitti.

Congrats Mr. mcfox. Beautiful outfit.

I’ve always liked DTO challenges. One of celebrities or other public figures could be fun—post a photo of someone else and one of yourself imitating it. A movie still, other celebrity shot, whatever.

But you certainly earned the right to do whatever you damn well please.
