As winner of last weeks 'All Blues' challenge I present to you this weeks challenge - the loud tie challenge.

All you have to do is to wear a loud tie tastefully - can it be done? Yes? Show us how!

The definition of 'loud' is up to you but it's at the opposite end of the spectrum from soporific.

Rules -
1) Challenge is open to fits from this week only from now until midnight AEST Saturday 6th September (Australian time)
2) Outfits must fit the basic premise of a MC fit i.e shirt, tie, suit/sc, trousers and proper shoes/boots. PS's are optional.
3) The tie must be loud (D'Uh!

)
4) The rest of your fit may be as loud (or not) as you want - just remember to keep it tasteful
5) One entry per person - if you submit more than one entry, you must nominate one as your final submission

Edit: Corrected the closing date.

I couldn't find a way to add a poll to this post so I've created a separate thread. Please vote at http://www.styleforum.net/t/417294/poll-friday-challenge-5th-september-2014-loud-ties-worn-well/0_30

The Candidates:

I'm going to kick this one off with my one and only loud tie. Put on your sunglasses!

The only loud tie I have, I'm definitely in the soporific camp. Trying a bit of a mashup between @Holdfast and @Southern Style

Edit: friendlier photography

A 90s banker 'power' tie. Not tasteful, but it sure is fun.

The leopards on my tie are coming for you, so you better start running:

Since I happen to be wearing a fairly loud tie today...

OK, here is my entry. Loud? Yes. Kitsch? Maybe a little. Anyway, this is actually one of my favourite ties.

I guess I’ll dip my toe in the water here with a loud tie outfit. Cross-post from Aussie Members.

LOUD worn well

My First Challenge.
Oscar Hunt Suit
Oscar Hunt Tie
Carmina Loafers
Cottonwork Shrt
Moscot Glasses

As my entry from yesterday was deemed "lovely but not loud" by the Sartorial Voice of G-d, the Stitch-meister, I am putting forth a second (and this time official) entry into this Friday Challenge. Today's tie is Charvet and a shade of yellow - what could be louder?

This is actually what I'm wearing today. I think it's also my entry. It's definitely of the first kind of the two kinds of (hopefully) successful approaches to bold ties that I outlined earlier. There are two other ties of, um, historical interest, which I might put on and post later and then decide. But for now, and since no-one has gone Post-Imperial yet...

Deets: Cad & The Dandy bespoke blazer suit in Minnis fresco (I think 520, but I can't actually remember -it's somewhere between a true navy and RAF blue), Club Monaco (yes, you read that right) navy bengal stripe shirt , Post-Imperial cotton tie, wimple white cotton hank (+ unseen black Crockett & Jones Hallams and burgundy Mazarin socks).

I went with one of my favourite ties:

Was planning to wear a large scale paisley similar to @EFV s but today's weather called for something brighter. Still pretty loud though.

The jacket is browner and has a more pronounced pattern IRL, ie it works better as a sc than the pictures might show.

Wonderfull outfit everybody

So my entries for my first FC (hope i'll follow the rules) :

Feel free to DQ me but this is as loud as I got this week. Picked out a yellow macclesfield to wear today, but I just wasn't feeling it, esp w the heat.

Gentlemen, I present...

THE MESMERIZER!

The only thing here that’s new to SF is the loud tie, here incorporated into a monotonic context which I think helps to tame the beast, at least a bit.

Cheers,

Ac

sorry for the bad picture quality, but i just had to participate

And loud socks as well:

OK, yesterday I voiced my concerns regarding certain barely-reconcilable conditions of this challenge, and intimated that I might need to re-think my own entry.

I have now done so. Different tie; more attention paid to colour matching; further offsetting the tie's loudness by incorporating other points of visual interest; and attempting better overall cohesion, within the paradigm of a somewhat dignified dandyism.

Whether the result is an improvement on my previous effort is anybody's guess, but I present it anyway. This is now my official entry.

Late entry (TWSS) am I in?

This should be fun. I like challenges which get members to post fits they wouldn’t otherwise post, and this surely fits that description.

Ac

Thanks. It's definitely outside my comfort zone and a challenge for me.

To be honest, my ulterior motive is to get some great inspiration from the group.

Dear god.

There's a fine but important distinction between 'loud' and 'hideous' ...
