Oh, that’s possible. I went and googled, and they just announced an entry into Formula E three days ago. So that’s where Rosenqvist goes, and there will be this huge battle royale between Ricciardo, Palou, Rossi, Herta and O’Ward for the second F1 seat? the suckiest one goes to Formula E with Rosenqvist, and the rest go to Indy? That’s still too many drivers unless Herta keeps his Andretti seat and Palou stays with Ganassi.

I personally have my doubts about any of the named Indycar guys doing better than Danny Ric in F1. None of them in my opinion have particularly distinguished themselves against Marcus Ericsson, who washed out of F1

Daniel is staying until his contract is up, unless McLaren buy him out (he has already said as much).

I know everybody thinks his time is up, but I personally don't buy it (he is far too good). He is in a lull, simply disgusted with himself that he was dumb enough to move away from RBR after some bad management advice.

Even if he had remained and played second fiddle to Verstappen he would be in a much stronger position right now (like Checo is)

Going to Renault was a stupid, badly thought out "vanity move", simple as that🙂

I don't think going to Renault was a bad move. He was going to be 2nd fiddle to Max at RB and Daniel wanted to be allowed to compete with Max. I think the worse move was going from Renault to Mclaren after he established himself at Renault. He was going to be their chosen one but he walked out on them.

There's that to take into consideration too I agree 100%, but leaving a team that is a proven race winner (where you have won seven Grand Prix) for a team with a PU you already knew to be a weak link.

It was completely f*cking nuts, he needs to sack his manager.

Even if he had stayed at RBR and ignored any "Team Orders" (which I doubt existed) he would have been way better prospect for Ferrari or Mercedes had his time come.

I like Daniel, he is a great driver, But politically he needs to toughen the fu*k up and not keep running away from team mates.

He didn't run away from his teammate at Renault. He already established himself as the top dog there only to leave for what he thought was a better opportunity.

As has been demonstrated ad nauseam since Danny Ric's departure, RBR is a one-car team. If his ambition was to win the WDC, staying there wasn't going to accomplish it. It took running Lewis off the road repeatedly and the Hand of Masi for Max to win it, so Dan had zero chance. You could maybe—maybe—argue that if he'd stayed he could have been an option to take Bottas' seat while George got experience, but then what? Get beaten by Lewis instead of Lando or Max? Maybe he could have gone to Ferrari instead of Carlos? Does anyone think that he would be a clear number one against Leclerc?

Of all the possibilities I've outlined, the most he would have at this point is a handful more wins, and he has made clear that wins without a chance to win the WDC aren't his priority. And he has one more win since leaving RBR. Now, feel free to discount his stated position, but it's far from clear he'd be any closer to his achieving his ambition.

Which is one reason I like to watch him suck.
I also think he's mentally fragile, at least compared to the current roster of F1 drivers.
He suddenly got allergic to the microphone and tried to get out of interviews which were mandatory.

They all think they can be "World Champion" it comes with the territory, and let's not forget Daniel is the driver who usurped Red Bulls four time World Champion Sebastian Vettel!!

I suspect he would of done a better or at least an equal job to Perez.

I think Alonso helped scare him off to be honest with his antics at McLaren (slagging off the Honda PU so publicly) another top end driver who makes a habit of being in the right place at the wrong time.

My thoughts exactly. He left RBR as a #2 driver to eventually end up at Maclaren as a #2 driver.

“I don’t want to see myself in 2028 or whenever, driving only on street circuits close to the city for the fan engagement because you need these kinds of iconic tracks on the calendar,” Verstappen added. “I understand everyone wants to make money but there is also a limit to that because it’s important to keep these really cool circuits on the calendar, instead of just driving on street circuits because I don’t think F1 cars are designed for them anyway.”
