Usually without but I've seen a Zegna, for example, that has mother of pearl studs built in. Kinda cool.

Looking back through this thread (which I'd never seen before now) really answers the question in the recent poll about the timelessness of a tuxedo: this is the one thread full of pics, spanning like four years, where styles have not changed at all (on the well-done getups). As proof, all the members wearing vintage whose looks are very current.
