If that was the scenario, it is whack then. I've never heard of a Canadian company requiring US citizenship but anything to do with defense always has stringent requirements.

If you have a green card, most American companies that are not related to defense shouldn't have any problems hiring you.

They definitely should have mentioned this during the application process, bunch of rookies. Not their rules though, defense contracts typically require security clearance which requires citizenship.

You may have been profiled a bit though... had you not looked and spoken like an American maybe they would have thought to ask.

I get it may not be on top of your to do list as a teenager but why didn't your parents apply? If your parents had applied after they were eligible (5 years) you would have gained citizenship through them.
