Hey Guys,
This is Jacob from American Trench. This past fall/winter (2017) Mike @Epaulet and I did a collab Hertling trouser in butter soft Italian corduroy from Hertling in the WALT fit. It was heartbreaking to see Hertling close and these trousers, made in December, were part of the final chapter of one of America's great trouser factories. They are also on *sale*, now $115, and you can use code HERTLING and take an additional 10% off. That code will work for the entire AT site, expires 2/28.

in other news, Mike and I are working on a special cotton Kennedy sock collab that will be ready soon - a sort of east coast vs. west coast jam. stay tuned for that one.

^^^ I got my pair today. As excellent as always.

@Epaulet - I have a size 9.5 in the Epaulet GAT and slip-on trainer, both fit fine but my toes are very close to the end. Not uncomfortable, but wouldn't want either to be any shorter. Rest of the fit is good. Most of my dress shoes are 9.5 (e.g. Allen Edmonds).

Should I be okay with the size 9 in the Carver chelsea boot, sizing down a half as suggested in the sizing advice, or should I play it safe with a 9.5 but at the risk of it being a little loose / large?

I have a Doyle in size 42, olive duck canvas I picked up in December. I haven't worn it because I never got around to having the sleeves shortened. But really, it's too small for me in the chest and back. If anyone is interested in taking it off my hands, PM me and we'll make a deal.

If I’m a 43R in Southwick, I should go for a 44 Doyle, right?

shout out to the donegal watch cap... been rocking it all winter. might pick up a backup.

Mislaid my Inis Meain Donegal hat at the weekend so this will be the perfect replacement. They are pretty much identical.

Really sad about Hertling. Many of my first suits were made by Hertling in a wonderful gab fabric that draped beautifully. Nordstrom carried them at the time, and I bought them in every color I could find. Love my Rivets also...look forward to Southwick continuing with this model.

my company is moving to bus casual, so now i have a great chance to pick up some really nice non-dress pants - looking for contemporary cut (slim / skinny), hard-wearing, cotton preferred (but wool ok).

is there a quick guide to fits for pants / trousers for Epaulet?

I would really like to try the Sandow for the higher rise but the thighs would probably be baggy on me, measurements look about .75” more in the thighs than on my rivet size (35).

View attachment 928916 Perhaps my favorite Hertling trousers, from winter ‘13/‘14, nightshade herringbone flannel.

:slayer: Yaaaaas!

I bought these as soon as I saw them in the newsletter back then, and they’re still going strong!

Just imagine how awesome a full suit in this fabric would be.

It’s super cozy and quite warm on freezing days too!
