Oh man, I got my Tecido trainers today and talk about a home run. They are every bit as awesome as they look in the product pics. I really like the ecru sole too; I initially thought it was going to be white, but seeing them in person I am glad it is slightly off-white. Makes them look a bit more grown up than your average sneaker type slip-on.

Sizing wise- I am bit of a tweener: borderline between 8.5D and 8.5E brannock. I take an 8.5 in the GATs and I went with the 8.5 in these even with the slimmer shape, and it was the right choice. They are a tad tight around my big and little toes, but they will stretch a bit. Otherwise they fit perfectly everywhere else.

I feel like these might be the most quintessentially California shoe I've ever seen: the chutzpah of a woven loafer, but the laid-back style of a sneaker.

Looks sharp. Personally, I don't think I could pull off full-on white, but I would really love these in an off-white/egg-shell. When I first asked about an easy pant, I was looking for something to wear w/ that would be lighter than the spring/summer tops I'd likely pair it with.

Someone on IG mentioned doing them w/ side-tabs instead of the tie belt. I think I'd probably prefer that route or maybe something more like the side buttons Rota does on some of their pants.



Something else that might be fun would be something towards the bottom of the legs akin to a sleeve tab since these are begging to be rolled up 90% of the time.

The thread is already stuffed with endorsements for Mike and the Epaulet team for great customer service, but let me add one...

After falling in love with some of the fabrics, I orderred a couple of the MTO shirts. I'm experienced with plenty of MTM and have dialed in my measurements pretty well, but this was my first with Epaulet. Still, I scrutinized the details and came up with numbers that I was sure would work for me. I was very aware that the disclaimer said measurements could end up being +/- .5" and thought I had extra to make it work.

While the overall fit was perfect, unfortunately my sleeves both showed up at the lower end of the -.5". The sleeve length out of the box was just on the edge of perfect but, with shrinkage from future washes, knew they wouldn't stay long enough.

Know that feeling when you've done a MTO and think "I just screwed up and I'm stuck with it?". That's what my gut was feeling when I reached out to Mike and explained the situation. It wasn't their fault, they were within their stated range, I just didn't plan far enough ahead for the possibility of being on the short end.

Mike's response? "No problem, send 'em back and we can swap out the sleeves - it's easy". Not only that, but he kindly collaborated a bit with me on my measurements, shrinkage, and what the best numbers would be to get it right.

I sent back my shirts and got them returned in a few weeks with new sleeves and just perfect all around. Now I know the feeling when, after having thought I barely botched an MTO and am stuck, a great customer service team makes it right - even though they really weren't at fault to being with.

Lesson learned: even if you know your measurements and are experienced, reach out to them if it's your first time. Every house has it's own nuances and style, Mike probably could have saved me and his team the hassle had I included him in the first place.

In the end, a big +1 for Epaulet MTO and their entire team. Looking forward to more shirts in the future!

@Epaulet The self-belt is removable, right, and can be replaced by no belt or some other belt?

And these are oversized on the fit model you said (note to self, order a size up...), but does that mean there'd be more of a typical Epaulet taper/silhouette for the standard EP size?

Thanks for the picking up the sneakers and for the write-up @slows2k ... I'm jazzed that you're so pleased with them!

The Tecido leather is really exciting, I feel that it took our trainers to a new level, even if it is such a limited release. I'm talking with the factory about running it in other shapes too. Since it's still fully lined behind the weaving, it's not necessarily a Spring/Summer concept exclusively. I'm inquiring to see what other leathers we can do that in. Imagine a group buy project with Tecido Horsehide boots and such

Hey guys!

Thanks for all of the feedback on the EZ Pant! We're definitely putting this into work next week... it really blew up our other social media as well.

There's been a lot of great comments.. and here's some feedback from our side:

1) We're going to do this via a Group Buy, probably launched next Thursday. This way we can get a fast turnaround and a great price. It's definitely a great summer item, so we'll keep it easy to get them through the factory more quickly.

2) Fabric is going to be "Khyber Cloth" it's everything that's called "Egyptian Cotton" in this item, and even a few colors above and beyond that. There's an insane cherry red tone too. And both white & off-white.

3) In theory, this can be made in any of the fabrics that Hertling offers, but it won't have the Group Buy pricing or turnaround. It's a new shape and the Group buy is going to be prioritized, so we can do it in linen or wool, but I'd need probably 8-10 weeks to deliver. Maybe faster, but I don't want to over-promise. They're running out of the production season to sell that lightweight Egyptian cotton, so we'll get the most competitive price on that.

4) Hertling is a pretty traditional trouser house, so although there are some good design ideas (built-in drawstring, elastic cuff, safari tab at the bottom), this isn't anything that they can functionally do. Our new shop in LA could do that stuff without a problem, but we wouldn't have the price, timing, or fabric for this project. By developing this item with Hertling, we'll also have access to their Fall fabrics - stuff like Tweed, Corduroy, Flannel, etc. I can imagine all kinds of dope variants for this.

5) Don't judge the fit just yet. I think that the sample is best suited for a 32. Our model was a 30, so it looks really big on him in every dimension. Hopefully someone around size 32 comes on Saturday to our open house and I can quickly shoot it on someone else. We'll judge the taper and such then.. but I do agree that it needs a strong taper to really do that directional look. I'll check in with new photos on Sunday or so.

6) The Self Belt is removable. You can take it out completely, and essentially have a "normal" trouser with some special fit details (full thigh, medium rise, shallow reverse single pleat, strong leg taper). That's part of the idea.. I wanted to make something that speaks to all of the cool oversized pants on the market, but is still versatile and can be dressed up.

I like the idea of the EZ Pant and would definitely hate to see the leg tapered any. I think the nice full leg is a huge part of the draw of this style!

I think, ideally, I'd actually like an even higher rise. Or maybe it's just the photos that you have posted it looks like the model is wearing them a bit too low (or the front of his shirt is just starting to billow out for one reason or another).

I'm definitely interested in seeing the full measurements for the Ez pant when they're ready. I like the idea of a fuller, almost boxy cut for a summer casual pant. Between this and some Rudy rivets I'd almost be set for summer and hopefully avoid shorts this year haha.
