Hey guys... real quick.. we're in crazy shipping mode and dealing with this cold-flu-whatever illness is all over Califorina, but we just got a ton of Rivet Chinos in. They're amazing. I've got unhemmed preorders shipping tomorrow, hemmed preorders shipping next week, and a whole bunch of stuff in stock.

Here's a link to the new arrivals.

You can use code rivet15 to get 15% off

And you can now get a shorter finished inseam! It's a $15 upcharge, it takes a few days, and will make the chinos final sale. But if you regularly hem them and you know your size and inseam length, then this makes them wearable straight out of the box.

I know that I've posted these Tomorrowland Flannels a few times already, but we just got our first makeups and these things are AWESOME.

It's the thickest flannel that we've ever offered through Individualized, and the colors are stunning.

You can check them out and order them here:

After about a year and months of missed promises by RTC on when it would be delivered, I finally got "my order." I put that in quotes because, although they hit the fit perfectly, they substituted the fabric for something that kind of looks similar, but is not the same.

What I ordered: DiPray 54% wool, 46% linen.

What I got, 67% wool, 31% cotton, 2% elastane and a much more pronounced check.

If it had been a reasonable turn around I wouldn't have question myself - "Is this what I ordered?"

After reviewing my order, the answer is clearly not. But, after a year of back and forth with Eva about when this jacket would finally be made, I'm exhausted by the whole thing. I'm not even sure what to say, other than to vent in this post.

It's not the summer jacket I ordered, but it fits great and it took a year to make. Sigh.

^^ Thanks so much for posting. I'm always grateful for feedback here, and criticisms are just as valuable as compliments.

As I wrote, both RTC and I apologize for the delay with your order, and for this unexpected substitution. I wrote you about the situation in detail, but the summary is that this was a promotional fabric that was lost and then substituted behind the scenes during RTC's transfer of ownership from Samuelsohn to Individualized.

It's not an excuse, but the fabric we used had the same internal stock number of the one we ordered. It's also a blended navy windowpane but not the one that we originally specified.

I'm glad that we nailed the sizing, and I'll say.. that jacket looks great on you! I love it with that shirt and that pocket square. I'll be happy to offer a significant discount on your next piece, and we'll get it done quickly for you.

It's been a journey with RTC. 2024 has been our biggest year with them, and I made more clothes in the past 12 months than I made in the 3 years prior. But this hasn't been without its challenges.

We started with RTC in 2020 and had the wildness of the pandemic and shutdowns until 2021. In '21 and '22 we had staff shortages and supply chain issues for fabrics and materials. '23 was the faltering of Samuelsohn's support and the start of the sale to Individualized. That was finalized and the factory finally stabilized in late Spring of '24.

Delivery windows were pretty good, but lead times could get longer at times. But I'm proud to say that mistakes (like this one) are very rare, the quality has never been compromised, and our customer satisfaction with the product is better than it ever was with Southwick.

Delays and staying flexible around production is honestly a part of Made In USA.. as any Alden customer will attest. But I do think that there's a lot of room for improvement next year. And with volumes constantly improving and our assortment expanding, I know that we'll do better 💪🏻

Unrelated, but I went to see both of these bands play (High Vis & Show Me The Body) in October, and this song absolutely blew me away. I love that it has this Larry Clark-esque video as well

If you have a chance to see either of these guys play, then grab it. I don't go to shows like I used to, but it was an incredible experience.

@Epaulet, I see you have some new DCBDs which is great. Any chance the “Monster Twill” shirt will be restocked?
Ah sorry, that one is unfortunately all gone. For the most part, our DCBD fabrics are a single shot.

Definitely consider that rinsed indigo shirt, it’s another fabric that I bought off of Amiri. It’s really thick and splits the difference between a denim shirt and a lightweight shirt jacket. I love it! It’s similar to a heavy piece from Iron Heart, but with a more refined and distinctive shape. It’s been our best seller so far.

Blue Velvet Pants1.jpg

These are some of the most amazing trousers that we've ever done!

Our client wanted a 1970s shape that evoked Dennis Wilson at a formal event.

Starting with the Walt trouser, we dropped the rise, flared the bottom, narrowed the thigh, and spec'd handcut western front pockets.

Our client supplied this incredible petrol blue cotton velvet. The results are stunning!

A testimonial is at the bottom of the post 💪🏻

Those really are quite beautiful.

I have a guess as to who commissioned them, and if I’m right, then I look forward to seeing them styled in our WAYWT thread someday.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
