To answer your question, I believe the general rule is that for EG a UK E fitting is closely equivalent to a US D fitting. But these shoes are a UK D fitting.

I do believe that there is one exception to the general rule: EG shoes for RL on the 89 last are marked in US (not UK) fittings.
