Their sizes may be limited. For jeans/chinos, asquith or claverton in dark oak. You can dress them up more if you want. Chelsea is beautiful but seems too dressy.

I should have said I don't like split-toes :)

Don't like split-toes? Is there an equal term in English for the Swedish saying "don't curse in church"?

No split-toes he says! :)

I would say a derby would be better for chinos and jeans. Oxfords - even the Asquith - can get too dressy. My vote is for the Wells in dark oak. Coincidently I will post some pics of mine in here soon so keep looking to see if they might be something for you. :)

Guys, I'm thinking about getting a pair of brown EGs that would go with dark jeans or chinos, ideally a pair that's a bit nondescript and not-flashy.  For example, I'd want to avoid any red or purple color in the shoe.

Any thoughts on what colors or shoes would work well?  I was thinking either dark oak or bronze for a color, and maybe the Malvern or Inverness?  The Westbourne (a derby) also looks like it could work.

Btw, I'd be getting these from Leffot most likely (I'm in NYC).

I'd personally steer clear of any oxford if my primary use was with jeans/chinos. Plenty of good derby models or boots for that.

Were the shoes seconds or on sale? The only time I received dark green boxes was on either situations that I mentioned; light green boxes for full retail shoes/boots.

Just got a few factory seconds in for myself and the lads, they were all delivered in dark green boxes. Some were ok, some need some TLC before we would consider wearing them. Nothing a couple of hours of shoe shining won't fix but I definitely understand why they were considered seconds.

Next up: Wells, 82E, Dark Oak, single leather soles.

Only one more to go. Hope you like this one as well!

@hoodog - another great pair, I never realized that the Wells had that detail on the heel.
