Dying “Sheepskin” Heated Gloves

Hello all,
I recently purchased a set of battery heated leather gloves. Unluckily for me they only come in a café color. I would like to color these gloves dark brown. From what I have heard said, polish is a no-no so I have purchased some leather dye and a leather stripper from saphir.
Before I do anything I wanted to hear your advice on recoloring these gloves before I make a mistake.

There are some leather experts who can probably give you more detailed info. But in short, you need to know how this leather is finished. If a thick plastic coating is applied on top, which fully blocks access to the skin underneath, you can't dye until you fully strip away that coating. All in all, there's a lot of risk you will ruin the gloves

That’s solid information. I know there’s a pretty good chance I am going to screw these up so I am going to start with a darker brown and fall back on a dark brown if that fails. If I can’t do that I’ll just eat my losses.
