Dry Gap denim?

I was in Gap yesterday and I tried on a pair of jeans that were obviously dry (and the tag on the inside said they were "rigid"), and I almost bought them, but the closest size they had were 31x32's, and I wanted a pair of 30x32's. I think they were called Williamsburg or something sort of similar, but when I went on their website I didn't find anything even close. Does anyone know what they might be? They were a really skinny cut. I think they were selling for somewhere in the $60 range.

Better yet, if anyone here works there and could get me a discount on a pair or let me know when they go on sale, I'd give you some props.

I saw the Williamsburg jeans at the Gap a couple of months ago, and they looked pretty decent. I was hoping they'd go on sale because IIRC they were around CDN$90, and I would've rather spent a little more to get APCs or the Levi's Matchstick jeans.

Denimbar has them for $138, which should be even lower with the discount.

They occasionally pop up on ebay for under $100 as well, although they're usually the pre-washed ones.

has anyone else heard anything about these jeans or have any experience with them? I appreciate the heads up that they stretch and fade quick, but I'm really hoping someone else will tell me the opposite and I can chalk the first comment up to a bad experience with them or something. I just really like the fit.

Assuming the fit does suck, any recommendations? So far I've had Matchsticks recommended, any other ideas?

Don't stress over them stretching and fading quick, the same could be said for apcs and a dozen other jeans.

I haven't seen the Gap Williamsburg in person (looks good in pictures though), but there other selvedge jeans were nice (esp for the $20 sale price they always end up at).
For the others (IIRC Morrison and Gough) the one thing i noticed was that they were a bit big, to get a fit I'd have liked in the waist I'd have sized down 2, also acounting for the extra stretch that you get in dry denim by infrequent washing.

Maybe try a 29x32?
or perhaps see if you can get them from another gap?

If you like the fit, go for it.

60 is better than what you might spend somewhere else.

also, in lincoln, make friends with someone who works at a gap and have them hook you up w/ their discount... or have them store (hide) your jeans in the stock room until they go on sale. Then you can buy them on sale & with said friends discount. That or apply for PT hours at the Gap and you will get hooked up awesome.

you should buy them, i havent seen these williamsburgs, but the morrisons were really nice.

edit:
ps- where are said gap unwashed jeans? i saw a pair of selvage jeans, but they said they were washed. where can they be found on gap.com?

gap.com doesn't have the same jeans that the store does for some reason. I couldn't find anything about them on the internet. They were definitely dry denim, though. They felt like cardboard and they didn't breathe at all, and the tag said "rigid." For some reason they don't really advertise their dry denim at all, I don't get it.

I saw them at the Gap in the Mall of America, but if they don't carry them here in Lincoln, Nebraska I will be sorely disappointed. I just assumed they carried them everywhere.

The cut really isn't very good. They are still doing boxy jeans. For discount or low-priced denim, Uniqlo in SoHo New York has great stuff; same price, better fit.

They have a great collection of shirts and cardigans though. They are going for a more grown-up look after catering to teens for quite a few years.

+1 on the stretching and fading. gap jeans fit and feel great in store. after first wash they were fade much more than i'd like even with the jeans flipped inside out. they also seem to get looser and more baggy over time. throwing them in the dryer helps a bit but then i worry about fading them even more.
vintage gap was great though. i have a few pairs that i've taken to get slimmed and they've held up great.
