Does it make sense to have a wardrobe of similar colors but with diferent materials and weaves?

Just as the title suggests. I'd like to know if it makes sense to have, for example, several grey blazers in different materials such as, cashmere, silk, cotton, linen and wool? To add another variable, I'd like to take weaves into consideration. For example, herringbone, twill, nailhead, birdseye and houndstooth. I haven't found anything on this topic while searching through the net. I would love to hear others input on this matter.

...counting the seconds to certain users' reply that 426 blue jackets are fine.

To actually answer: my wardrobe is mostly made up of blues, whites and greys and differentiate themselves through pattern and texture, yes. I personally would not have grey odd jackets, though.

Self-fulfilling prophecy. The word "blue jackets" caught my eye

I am very, very boring. I more or less have a Fall/Winter rotation of four navy cashmere blazers: double-breasted (Dormeuil), herringbone one-button peak lapel (Loro Piana), two button notch lapel (Scabal, it is so nice my tailor calls this jacket the super-goat ) and a three button (Lanificio Cerruti), each is paired with its own shade of grey flannel (two medium shades, a dark shade and a lighter shade respectively), certainly not a varied wardrobe to a normal person but it suits me quite nicely and allows brown shoes/belt or black shoes/belt and a wide assortment of handkerchiefs though the pinks are one of my favorites. I mix it up with a brown cashmere sport coat and a camelhair sport coat when I am really crazy but mostly I live in navy cashmere and grey flannel.
