Out of wood? that would be pretty cool. I dont know of any, but I would like to know too.

http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/ It isn't all from-scratch DIY but a lot of the "best" projects on the site are made entirely of random parts from the As-Is section. A lot of the stuff is too--not sure how to describe it--"collage-y" for me. I guess I am less interested in people who decoupage their coffee table than I am in people come up with great custom installations to fit their needs. I don't have the time to look up some of my favorites but the projects range from simple combinations of a few of the shelf pieces to complex projects that involved cutting up pieces from multiple items and random accessories from the as-is section. I have a surface in my apartment's kitchen that was inspired by this...I got a board taht would have been the side of a shelving unit (so it has a few unsigtly holes in the bottom) for something like 54 cents and then I bought a table that had been damaged for $20-30. the surface was junked but the 4 adjustable legs were in brand new condition and normally sell for $30 a piece. I attatched my board to the wall with angle brackets and then gave it 2 legs on the outside corners so it could bear load...

I would like to know how to make a bar. It seems simple, but having never built anything more than a bird house, I'd need instructions.

A lot of handyman/woodworking magazines often have projects like "Build your own home mini bar complete with sink"

It's not as easy as an online thing but they are probably more reliable and higher quality. I would assume it is indexed somewhere and you would have to order a back issue or check a library

I just took a look and Demonoid seems to have a lot of torrents for old Woodsmith and Shopnotes magazines which probably have a lot of plans for projects as well as useful tips. See the demonoid thread for invites Also, that plan canvas place has some cool designs and the prices are low. I might try Table 00004

Instructables and Readymade are great. For more traditional stuff, there are plans all over the Internet - look up the style and kind of furniture you want to build (ie 'shaker table').

Makezine.com mostly deals with geeky/techy stuff, but fabrication is fabrication, and some projects deal specifically with building furniture.
