Well, to clarify: the leather that these boots is made from is decidedly casual and will only be moreso as they get all scuffed to hell. Once there's big worn areas with fuzzy nap coming through in a much lighter color, nobody is going to even notice a couple of off welt stitches.

But, if these were, say, a pair of horsehide SDs that I planned on keeping a nice shine on, yeah, I'd be bummed about that level of finish, for sure.

Right on.
And how about a pic after you cleaned them off..?

Horsehide bounty hunter lace to toe.
Feels like there is too much wiggle room in the toe box. Not sure what I’ll do with it :(

How do they fit in the rest of the boot? If they're creasing right at the ball, nice and snug around the ball and instep, you're not getting heel slip, then I'd say they fit and what you should do with the wiggle room in the toes is wiggle your toes.

Thx for checking! The last is volumous. I tie the laces tight and even then the instep is not as snug as I’m used to and there is some heel slip. Probably need to go down a half size?

Only you can say, but it doesn’t look as if your laces are too close, which is a sign to me that boots are too roomy...

Do the laces look close? I was surprised that I couldn’t close the gap between the two lines of eyelets by tightening the laces. With thick pair of wool socks, I tied tight but the shoe still felt spacious at the instep and down to toes and some heel slippage.

Woops, I meant to say that they do NOT look too roomy to me, because the laces were not that close. My BHs are too big for me, and when I lace them there is very little room left at all there. But also, in your case it may be that it is hard to really get them laced tight with the leather still stiff and those leather laces. Hard to know, but i think if you feel like the boots are slipping around they are probably a bit too big. Could be that a standard pair of insoles will solve it, though that typically works less well with length in my experience.

Too bad if they don't fit, cause they look killer! I believe that's the only pair of lace to toe brown HH I've seen.
