Problem is a lot of people doing GMTO here are just copying ideas that have already been done. It's boring and I wish we'd get something new proposed here.
It seems you’ve imagined a problem with an also easily imagined solution, just make your great new GMTO proposal, and one could also imagine we all would jump at joining it.

I’m the same, I am kicking myself for not getting in on the Special Edition DB Hatch Islay.

I’m cooking up some ideas for another Islay GMTO. I’m considering something similar to the TSG version we did last year, the half-bellows tongue works so well.

Considering one of the Hurricane Hide leathers, or I’m quite taken by the Rust Grain that’s on the Sale Radnor on the winter sale site currently.

I’d likely be in! Natural hurricane hide would be neat.
The natural hurricane hide Islay would be an instabuy for me.

I did in the regular C&J thread. Then it gets spammed with links to remakes in this thread and loses steam. Also, people aren't really going to spend on multiple pairs when they already committed to others. Every time I see mentions of another tan scotch grain mainline boot proposed I roll my eyes. There are plenty of other boots that have never had a GTMO done here that would be worth doing. Do a Radnor, Donegal, or Kelso. Maybe even a chukka or something.

Let’s do it!!

I’m imagining Ridgeway sole, maybe natural welt versus standard/dark brown? Otherwise typical Islay makeup, but open to suggestions. Oh and half bellows tongue to be sure.

I can take a stab at adding it to the Google spreadsheet at some point, but I’m new to this. I think we’d probably get ample interest!

I have the Consiton in natural hurricane hide, I am not keen on it in an Islay design. Same reason I ddint go for the Harris.
I’m curious if you can share why that is? Also I’ve only ever seen the Coniston on Sand hurricane hide, was yours a special makeup?

Not a special one, bought it from the store (main line). But I tried the Harris and didn’t like it, I suppose same would apply to an Islay. Probably due to taste, but the picture I have seen from chocolate hurricane hide Islay do look nice.

It may also be due to the fact that so have enoug boots and would probably a shoes like Pembroke GMTO with Ridgeway sole.

I’ve seen the Islay in a Coffee Hurricane Hide, they did it as a sale special. Crafty picked up a pair. I was too slow and my size was sold quickly.

I’ve got the Moray in the Chocolate HH, same leather as the Ross boot. I’ve had them a year, so not a huge amount of wear, but they have quite quickly become a favourite.

I’m intrigued by the Natty HH. @Giev do you have any pictures of yours? How are they wearing? How’s the leather?

I do wonder what I’d wear with a Natural colour boot?

I'm just about to pull the trigger on the navy Chepstow 4 in roughout. I have about 7 pairs of suede boots in various shades of brown and looking for something a bit different and rougher for bad weather. I'd be interested in something in a 4 eyelet and 4 speedhook makeup in 365/378/394/228 last. Sole preference is something lightweight like cleated or ridgeway

With age they seem to take on a nice mid-tan or dark tan shade. Scroll about halfway down this article.

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
