Wow, those chinos look awesome. Who makes those and what color is that? Looks like something between a burgundy and grape color. Are they garment-dyed?

these are some of my favorite trousers, made by the now defunct label aubin & well. im so pissed i didnt pick up a few more pairs. fit is great and the color can vary from charcoal to deep purple depending on the light. they also used copper buttons that leave a beautiful patina on the points of contact

I've seen the exact same model of Marlows marked both 1/2 and 1 full size down. Anymore I just order TTs a except for the Tassel. .. Down 1/2. I do believe mostly they are 1 full size down UK. Also, all of them have been marked 42.5 EU, which is my 9.5 US size.

I agree. If I was a dog I would be humping that.

I like the shade of your Marlows Mike. Do you find them comfortable and are you still breaking them in?

Thank you sir.

I have found that they are much more comfortable now. I have worn them probably around 10 times now and the sole has definitely improved a lot since I first got them. I expect that they will only continue to improve. The sole was very solid at first.

mdubs, your experience with the Marlow short wings sounds similar to mine. I danced them around the living room for a couple of days before their maiden voyage last Easter. Surprisingly they've turned out to be a very comfortable pair of shoes. I initially contemplated getting recessed toe taps from B. Nelson, but the strength of the C&J welted construction made that decision a moot point.

My Marlows - PTB and SWB - were comfortable out of the box. But I do know others have reported the opposite.

Seven, I got the same feeling about my SWB's and PTB's. It makes me wonder if spending twice, maybe even a lot more, of the list price of C&J's on some shell cordovan MTM hand lasted beauties is really worth it since the only real purpose of shoes is to protect ones feet while standing on them.

I just found the sole to be super thick and stiff. I guess that I am just used to Alden's double leather soul, which albeit is stiff, it is not that stiff. I am fine with having to wear the shoes a few times to get the sole flexing a little and the cork bed worked around. Just as long as I know progress will be achievable.

Gents-- where can I find quality waxed 52-54" boot laces to replace my Lindrick's? They're starting to look like they're on their last leg....

Alden ones are nice, you can buy them at their stores, Leathersoul etc

You can also email Alden and they should send you free laces. Pretty much put Alden flat waxed on everything now

Awesome, I'll give them a try. Thank you guys!

Edit: Speaking of Gianni's, I think I need to jump on that bandwagon based on pictures I've seen on this thread. I'm sure I'm the 1000th person asking this question, but how's the fit as compared to Lindricks? What would be considered a "good deal" for a new pair?

I know these aren't Cordovan, but C&J for RL is 2 out of 3. Who here has recently scored a killer deal on one of the pairs of Prestburys that have been going around? I think there were some eBay sellers that may not have known exactly what they had/didn't list effectively.
